What it does

  • Figma Specs is a Markdown-based editor for writing down a design language. It can be a standalone file or live on the canvas, and it can reference canvas elements, FigJam diagrams, code layers and designs.
  • Teams can add design libraries, code libraries and guidelines to a shared design-system context that agents consult to follow the rules.
  • Code layers, in open beta after a June private beta, add code to canvas designs for more interactive prototypes. You can ask the agent to turn a design into code or change existing code.
  • MCP support grew by more than 20 tools, including Open Code, Dia, Meta Muse and Sarvam, and Payload CMS now works with Figma Make for dynamic websites.

Who it is for

Design and product teams that want AI agents to follow their design system instead of inventing their own styles.

Worth knowing before you try it
